THE 2014 IAWTV BOARD ELECTIONS: CALL FOR NOMINEES TO THE BOARD

On Monday, August 11, 2014, The IAWTV begins the process for electing members to the Board of Directors. The Election is conducted by secret ballot votes of the eligible voting members of the IAWTV which are managed by the Academy Administrator. E-mail all nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A member shall be eligible for the Board if s/he is currently an Active Member, has been a member of the IAWTV for at least 6 months prior to the start of the term of office (in this case became a member by February 11, 2014), and has neither been suspended nor subject to any other disciplinary action prior to the effective date of the election.
The election opens with a call for nominations. Any Active Member regardless of location can nominate himself/herself, or any other IAWTV members regardless of location for an open seat. If you are an Active Member in good standing you are eligible to participate and will receive a link to submit your nominations next week. The number of allowable nominations, including yourself, may not exceed the total number of seats available which is 6.
Accept / Decline Nominations
Following the call for nominations, members who have been nominated will be contacted by the Academy Administrator to accept or decline her/his nomination. Upon acceptance of a nomination, the Active Member must provide a statement about why s/he is running for the Board for publication to the membership (Candidate Statement). Failure to submit a Candidate Statement shall result in forfeiture of the nomination. The IAWTV will then publish the complete list of candidates on IAWTV.org and their statements will be emailed to each Active Member for review.
Voting and Term of Office
After the campaign/review period, the ballots listing the candidates shall be emailed to the voting membership and must be submitted by the designated deadline per the timeline below.
The top 6 candidates will be selected to serve on the board. If there is a tie preventing the selection of exactly 6, there will be a runoff election to determine which of the tie-holders will serve. Those elected to office shall have met a majority of votes cast by the IAWTV voting membership and will serve beginning September 10, 2014 through July 31, 2016.
